Haiku Learning Systems is a young startup company. We have great aspirations, but we are also focused on embodying the 'harmony, simplicity, and community' that we chose as our tagline. We come from a liberal arts background and are thus grounded in our desire to contribute to the world of education that has given so much to us.

Allen Angell has nearly 20 years of experience in technology sales, marketing, and executive management. After 6 years as Vice President of Sales for an education industry Web development firm, Allen founded Haiku Learning Systems in 2006.
When not meeting with clients and partners or running the daily operations for Haiku, Allen enjoys the regular challenges and fleeting satisfaction that only a round of golf can provide.
Bryan Rafael FalcónBryan Rafael Falcón has nearly 18 years of experience in educational technology and teaches occasionally at the college level. Haiku Learning is the second startup in which Bryan has participated. He consults on large technology projects for schools and districts in addition to overseeing the development of Haiku LMS.
He also holds an MFA in Directing, has discovered a new-found love for writing, and participates in the occasional filmmaking project.
Reynard HilmanPrior to working at Haiku Learning, Reynard had nearly five years of experience in developing web applications for colleges, large school districts, and e-commerce retailers. His past experience motivates him to build software that is simple, beautiful, and usable. After exchangings idea with Bryan Falcon, Reynard saw clearly that the education sector needs software like this, and thus Haiku was born. He also has a penchant in graphic and interface design and believes that simplicity is beautiful.
When not working on Haiku, Reynard spends his time honing his violin skill and programming wizardry among other things.
Marcos Wright KuhnsMarcos has a passion for making great software. Motivated by years of making do with mediocre learning management systems at school, he aims to make online education easier for students and teachers alike. While previous internships and freelance work has provided him with a background in a variety of programing languages, Marcos has come to love programing in Ruby on Rails at Haiku Learning.
In his spare time Marcos enjoys being creative with photography and graphic design, lending a hand with various open-source projects, and just enjoying married life.
Alex DuggerAlex Dugger has over five years of experience in both information technology systems and customer service. He is excited to be combining his experience with his aesthetic skills to ensure that using Haiku is a simple, beautiful, and intuitive experience for all its users.
When not working, he often finds himself involved with technology and the arts, with a leaning toward photography and live theater, though his most recent artistic journeys have been primarily culinary.
The following volunteers have shared generously of their time and expertise to help further the cause of Haiku Learning. We wish to acknowledge them here. We know that Haiku LMS would not be what it is without them.
