Announcing new professional development opportunity: The Digital Teacher Series
We’re thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with a new line of online professional development that’s being offered via Haiku LMS. It’s called the Digital Teacher Series, and it’s designed to give teachers the proficiency, tools, and confidence to use technology and web applications in the classroom.
The courses are developed and taught by The Center for Learning, a 42-year-old non-profit organization with a national reputation for producing the highest quality, project-based teacher resources and sustainable, results-based professional development. They have an amazing faculty of instructors lined up to teach these courses.
The pedagogy is grounded in project based learning with choice in outcomes and job embedded activities. All instructors are being guided to embrace practices like proactive communication, radical collaboration, and to encourage creativity with guided inquiry.
All courses are 3 credits - running for 6 weeks with options for continuing education or graduate credits. The first courses will start July 9th and include:
- Multimedia in the Engaged Classroom
- Empowering your Students to Connect, Create and Collaborate with Web 2.0 Tools
- Social Networking in Education
- Project-based Learning in the Web 2.0 World
- Brain-friendly Learning Online
- Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners through Technology
