Haiku keeps it simple. For educators there are no long term contracts, no sign-up fees and no termination fees. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel your account at any time.  We will always offer a free plan.

How does the 60-day free trial work for Organizations?

So you can get started trying Haiku LMS as soon as possible, you will have a free individual teacher account available to you at the end of registration.   Within the next business day HAIKU Learning Systems will contact you to collect additional information regarding your organization.  Within the next week we will set up a 60-day trial domain for you.  You will be able to create additional accounts via the Domain Control panel. If you are enthralled with Haiku LMS (and we think you will be), we will transition your trial domain into a full domain at the end of your 60-day trial. 

Is this a long-term commitment? Can we pay a year in advance?

Yes.  For educator plans Haiku LMS is generally a pay-as-you-go service.  If you cancel, you'll be billed for the current month, but you won't be billed again.

Haiku LMS does offer annual billing for teachers who need a Purchase Order, or for those who prefer to pay only once a year instead of monthly.

 For organization plans we will work with you to determine a method of payment.  It is common for organizations to pay a year at a time.

What does "maximum active classes" mean?

There are two main types of classes in Haiku LMS: active classes and inactive classes. Active classes are classes that are open to either the public, students or parents to view. For example, the Educator plan allows you to manage up to 10 active classes at once. You can have unlimited inactive classes if you want since those aren't counted against your total. 

How much storage space do I need?

Storage space use is calculated from all of the files included in your active and inactive classes. This includes documents and media files used in course content as well as files submitted by students for Assignments or Discussions. 

The amount of storage space you need is very much dependent on how many and what kind of files you plan to use in your Haiku classes. A free Haiku account will give you room for about two dozen digital photos or about five average length songs, while a Teacher or Educator account will give you plenty of storage space for a large number of documents and media files.
